In 2007 we announced that we had submitted our application to become a PGA Certified Family Golf Course . At the present time, we are the only Private Club in the State of Ohio carrying this distinction.
It is with great excitement that we announce that the new Family Tee Markers have arrived and have since been installed.
As you play the course you will see 2 additional tee markers strategically placed along the cart path side of the fairway adjacent to the rough.
The Level I tee markers, blue in color , are designed for our most beginning golfers. Specific yardages range in the following fashion:
PGA Blue Tees :
Par 3's.....45 - 85 yds.
Par 4's.....85 - 135 yds.
Par 5's.....135 - 195 yds.
The Level II tee markers, gold in color , are designed for an advancing golfer not yet ready to tackle our most forward rated set of tees (green) but have become very comfortable with the Level I Blue tees. Specific yardages range in the following fashion:
PGA Gold Tees :
Par 3's.....75 - 115 yds.
Par 4's.....185 - 245 yds.
Par 5's.....285 - 345 yds.
In the coming weeks, as the weather continues to improve, you will also see the addition of matching plates placed on the cart paths to give quick & easy identification as to the placement of the new PGA Family Tees. Both sets of markers on the cart paths will match the position of the corresponding plate in the fairway.
Specific US Kids "Personal Tee" books are available through the Golf Shop where juniors are given different information on etiquette, scoring and specific practice drills to help them improve their game and overall enjoyment of the club.
Pace of Play Tips & Advice
Although the "Family Tees" will always be in operation, we want to remind our Members that there are certain times days and times that are more conducive to using the family tees. If you and your family are utilizing the new family tees we remind you to take special note of your position on the golf course. Know your surroundings.
Part of our hopes with the new family tees is not only increasing the families' enjoyment of the club but also to teach our junior golfers proper golf course etiquette. As we all know, the most basic of golf course etiquette states that "If there's no one in front of you holding you up, but you are holding up those behind you, either speed up or allow the trailing group to play through."
~ PGA FAMILY SCRAMBLES ~
Designed as part of the Family Tee Program, our first " Family Scramble " is set for Sunday, May 11. This 9-hole Scramble is limited to 48 golfers and is an exciting addition to our Member event schedule for 2008.
